BALLOON FIESTA WEEK AT OLD TOWN

The world-renowned Balloon Fiesta takes place annually during the first two weeks of October. After the balloons take flight, return to Old Town to enjoy a variety of festivities including live music at the Gazebo, cultural performances, and more. Explore unique shops and galleries, savor local flavors, and take advantage of extended hours, offering plenty of time to discover the hidden gems tucked away in historic Old Town.

DÍA DE MUERTOS

Each fall, Old Town Albuquerque transforms into a vibrant tapestry of tradition and remembrance during Día de Muertos. Stroll along the vibrant “Marigold Mile,” filled with tens of thousands of orange and yellow marigold flowers. As evening descends, beautiful ofrendas (altars) glow amongst warm candlelight.

HOLIDAY STROLL & TREE LIGHTING

Each year on the first Friday of December, Old Town Albuquerque celebrates the Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting, featuring festive lights, live music, extended shopping hours, and a community tree lighting ceremony at Plaza Don Luis. LUMINARIA WALK

Every Christmas Eve, Old Town Albuquerque is transformed into a magical wonderland, illuminated by the soft, flickering glow of thousands of luminarias. This cherished tradition, rooted in centuries of New Mexican culture, draws locals and visitors alike to experience a unique blend of history, community, and festive wonder in the heart of Old Town.
